ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming & diving team was back in action for the first time in 2025 with the Bombers on the road against No. 20 RIT and Hamilton College in a tri-meet at RIT's Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers defeated Hamilton, 166-132 and it was a tight battle with RIT as the Tigers came out on top, 183-117.
Sophomore
Alec Kutsner captured first place in the 100-yard backstroke (53.53 seconds) and he would also swim the opening leg of the Bombers 200-yard medley relay team that was third with a recorded time of 1:36.69.
Ryan Cooke was the other winner for the Bombers as he topped the field in the 500-yard freestyle. He touched the final wall with a recorded time of 4:46.01 as he had a solid all-around meet also finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.69, which was over a second slower than Hamilton's Nathaniel Taft (1:42.53).
Matthew Janssen finished second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.58.
In diving action,
Ethan Godfrey won the 3-meter with a finals score of 295.15, which bested RIT's Luke Albanese. Godfrey would finish in second place in the 1-meter competition behind Albanese with a score of 286.90 compared to 323.00.
Ithaca College will compete at the Henry Kumpf Invitational on the campus of RPI on Saturday, January 18 at 12 p.m.
