Emiliano Pedrero and Ivan Kisic Advance to the Round of 16 at Northeast ITA Regionals

MADISON, N.J. – In the final competition of the fall semester, the Ithaca College men's tennis team had five student-athletes competing in the 2024 Northeast ITA Regional. This year the event was hosted on the campus of Drew University. Competing teams included Drew, Baruch, Hamilton, Hobart, Ithaca, Manhattanville, NYU, Oneonta, Pratt, RIT, Rochester, RPI, Rutgers-Camden, Skidmore, St. Lawrence, TCNJ, Union, Vassar and Yeshiva.
 
The Bombers experience the most success in doubles action. First year Ivan Kisic teamed with Emiliano Pedrero and they were able to advance to the round of 16 after winning their opening match. The duo combined to take down RPI's Nicolas Luis Vega and Tasmay Shah by a score of 8-5. They would eventually drop their next matchup to Connor Griff and Jose Chavez, from Hamilton College as they won 8-5. The other IC pair of Gijs Fidler and Siddharth Desai dropped their opening match by a score of 6-8.
 
In singles, Ivan Kisic had the most competitive match as he ended up on the short end of a 7-5, 6-4 (10-4) result to the University of Rochester's Alan Wang. Gijs Fidler fell 7-5, 7-5 to Baruch's Juan Mendoza and Luis Crespo was on the shortend of a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) result to Drew University's Jesse Faro.
