Ewing, N.J. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team was back in action on Friday and Saturday as they took on both TCNJ and NYU as part of the Lions Tournament. The Bombers squared off against TCNJ first where they saw two wins.
In singles action,
Taylor Crain took on Aira Abalos and won in decisive fashion by set scores of 6-4, 6-4. The doubles pair of
Eliana Chelnick and
Aenessa Rylski were successful in defeating the Lions duo of Megan Pongrac and Mandy Fleischmann by a score of 6-1.
On Saturday, Ithaca took on the NYU Violets where the Bombers also scored one doubles victory in four different matchups. The IC duo of
Lauren Rodriguez and
Madeleine Sutro squared off against Aditi Narayan and Maria Vitoria Salomao where they won 6-3.
Taylor Crain was in a competitive bout against Jimena Menendez but came out on the losing end of a 6-7 (4), 6-2, 13-11 decision.
Next up, the Bombers will take part in the ITA Northeast Regional Championship next weekend, which will be hosted by Skidmore College in Saratoga Spring, N.Y. beginning on Friday.
