Women’s Tennis Fall 5-0 to RPI in the Liberty League Quarterfinals

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team returned to the Liberty League Championship tournament as they were the No. 6 seeded team this season after a 5-4 LL record during the regular season. The Bombers took on the No. 3 seeded RPI Engineers who ended up winning 5-0 to move onto Saturday's semifinals.
 
In doubles action, Taylor Crain and Alys Pop teamed together in the top slot but fell to L. Flores Gonzalez and Prisha Rapur by an 8-3 score. The most competitive matchup was between Sabrina Cheung/Kendall Curley and Brooke Bauer and Masha Karach with the Engineers pair winning by an 8-5 score. Maddie Sutro and Ava Casell-Lapetina dropped an 8-2 result in the No. 3 doubles slot.
 
The Engineers were able to clinch the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Lauren Rodriguez dropped a 6-2, 6-3 result and Alys Pop fell to Prisha Rapur by set scores of 6-1, 6-0. Kendall Curley looked like she was enroute to a victory over Lina Krumpel winning 6-4 and was up 4-1 as the match went unfinished after RPI clinched.
 
Under first year head coach Tom Rishcoff, Ithaca College finished the 2023-24 season with an 8-10 overall record.
