Women’s Tennis Knock off RIT Winning 5-4

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team hosted the RIT Tigers in Glazer Arena inside the Athletics & Events Center on campus on Wednesday evening for a Liberty League matchup. The Bombers ended up winning a close 5-4 match as with the win they improve to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in conference.
 
The Bombers ended up edging out RIT due to winning two out of the three doubles matchups. Taylor Crain and Lauren Rodriguez went back and forth with Kira Kronenberg and Maya Clinard but ended up dropping a 9-7 result. The first IC victory was captured by Ava Casell-Lapetina and Maddie Sutro who won at No. 3 by an 8-2 score. Sabrina Cheung and Kendall Curley took down Jackie Drozd and Abby Murray winning 8-5.
 
In singles action, Kendall Curley scored a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles over Gabby Donohue. Sabrina Cheung followed suit scoring a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over Abby Murray. The final Bomber victory was claimed by Maddie Sutro who defeated Anika Galkiewicz by scores of 6-1, 6-2.
 
Next up, Ithaca College will host Vassar College on Saturday at 2 p.m. for a Liberty League matchup. The Brewers currently sit in second in the LL with a 8-3 overall record and 2-0 mark within the conference.
