ITHACA, NY- The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team got back in the win column with a huge statement victory over the University of Scranton at Higgins Stadium on Saturday. The game finished with a 15-12 final score as the Bombers will head down south with an improved 3-2 record while the Royals of Scranton fall to 2-5 on the season.Â

The first quarter was an offensive onslaught as both teams came ready to play and it was a shooter's day early. Scranton got things going first as Matther McAree scored the first goal of the contest off an Ithaca turnover to put the Royals up 1-0. The Bombers took the Royals' first strike to the chin and moved on as they netted three straight with John Sramac, Graham Brady, and Kyle Proctor finding twine to give the Bombers a 3-1 lead. John Sramac scored another and Alex Eglitis of Scranton netted two of his own to bring the first quarter to an end with Ithaca leading 4-3.

After Joe Boyle tied the game for the Royals early in the second, the Bombers offense became overwhelming as they began clicking on all cylinders. Graham Brady kept his offensive game going as he scored a couple more alongside a tally from John Sramac, Sekou Ibrahima, and Charlie Niebuhr. The Bombers took a 9-5 lead into halftime with lots of momentum on their side.

Scranton opened the third quarter with two quick ones to make it a 9-7 game, but Charlie Niebuhr had something to say about that as he netted four straight of his own opening it up to a 13-7 game. Scranton scored after Niebuhr's solo effort and the game went into the fourth quarter with the score being 13-8 in favor of the Bombers.

Despite a four-goal run for Scranton, the Bombers were able to close this one out with a final of 15-12. John Sramac had four goals with two assists and Charlie Niebuhr had five goals to lead the Bombers offensively. The battle at the faceoff was also hugely in favor of the Bombers as Chris Sohl went 15-of-20 while also tallying a goal and Chase Gulick was 9-of-10.

The Bombers next game will be down south in Virginia Beach as they take on The College of Wooster on Wednesday, March 13th at 12:00 pm.
