ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team hosted the 2024 NCGA East Region Championship inside Ben Light Gymnasium on March 9 and the Bombers finished fourth among the seven-team competition with a score of 190.950. Brockport won the meet with 192.100, while Cortland was the runner-up with 191.650 and Rhode Island College took third at 191.575.
Ursinus placed fifth with 190.275, Springfield was sixth at 189.775 and Utica took seventh at 186.175.
Ithaca started the competition on bars during the second rotation and scored 47.275. All five scoring gymnasts earned over 9.250.
Lauren Babineaux and
Kaylie Goodwin both received 9.625, while
Skye Cohen turned in 9.450.
Natalie Steed landed with 9.325 and
Marlena Bailey was awarded 9.250.
The Bombers then turned to the beam after the second round and scored 46.975 to raise their total to 94.250.
Jillian Freyman started things off with 9.700 and
Abby Chesshire followed up that routine with a team-best 9.750. Goodwin earned 9.400 and
Caitlin Pellegrino received 9.250.
In the sixth rotation, the Bombers moved over to floor and turned in a superb performance with 48.775 to total 143.025 heading to the final rotation. All six gymnasts scored over 9.650 in the event as
Grace Murray led the way with 9.825. Freyman was next at 9.800, while Pellegrino and
Corey Foster each received 9.725. Chesshire turned in a 9.700 routine and Cohen had 9.650.

IC concluded the competition on vault and received 47.925 to finish the meet with 190.950.
Natalie Steed posted the top mark with 9.700, while
Hana Miller received a score of 9.600. Murray earned 9.575 and Pellegrino was awarded 9.550. Freyman recorded a routine of 9.500 and Babineaux finished with 9.075.
The NCGA will announce individual qualifiers and the final two at-large teams for the NCGA National Championship on Monday.
