RESULTS
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team wrapped up its regular season at Springfield College on March 3 and lost to the Pride, 189.250-187.775.
The Bombers got off to a rough start with 44.550 on bars to fall behind Springfield by 3.3 points. IC only managed two routines to score over 9.000 in the rotation as
Skye Cohen led the way with 9.200, following by 9.175 from
Lauren Babineaux.
Ithaca regrouped on the second rotation with 48.200 on vault with all six routines scoring over 9.475. For the second week in a row,
Natalie Steed paced the Bombers on vault with 9.725, while
Grace Murray landed with 9.650 and Babineaux and
Jillian Freyman each received 9.625.
Hana Miller was next in line with 9.575 and
Caitlin Pellegrino scored 9.475.
For the third rotation, IC moved over to floor and trimmed Springfield's lead down to 1.825 with a stellar score of 48.800. Freyman and Murray shined with a pair of 9.800 routines, while
Abby Chesshire was close behind with 9.775.
Corey Foster contributed 9.725 and Pellegrino earned 9.700. Cohen kicked off the rotation with 9.550.
IC finished up the dual on beam, which has been one of the strongest routines throughout the season, but the Bombers faltered with 46.225 to finish the meet 2.250 behind Springfield. Pellegrino turned in the best performance with 9.550, while
Emily Kobusky earned 9.375. Foster posted a score of 9.275, while Chesshire and Freyman tallied routines of 9.025 and 9.000.
The Bombers return to South Hill next Saturday, March 9 for the NCGA East Region Championships in Ben Light Gymnasium at 1 p.m.
