ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College wrestling hosted a quad on Saturday welcoming Wesleyan University, SUNY Oneonta and Williams College to the South Hill for duals against each school. The Bombers began the day by dismantling the Oneonta Red Dragons by a 31-9 score as they got stronger as each dual went on besting Wesleyan by a 43-7 score and shutting out the Williams College Ephes (52-0). Ithaca has now secured six-straight wins and hold a 12-5 overall. Ithaca will return to action on Friday, February 9 hosting a dual where they will celebrate Senior Day against Wilkes University. Bouts are slated to begin at 7 p.m. in the Athletics and Events Center on campus.

The dual began at 125 lbs. with a match between
Cosmo Damiani and Cameron Hinchcliff, Oneonta's wrestler was able to get the first shot scoring the first three points in the match. Midway through the first period, Damiani was taken down again, but this time Hinchcliff was able to get the pin (Fall 2:25).
Isaias Torres returned from injury on Saturday and battled Danny Poggi. Torres was able to gain momentum early with a takedown and after the first period he held a 7-0 lead. Early into the second period, Poggi was able to score a takedown, but Torres had an awesome reversal and earned a pin and the team score was then tied 6-6. It was a pretty neutral start to the match at 141 lbs.
Matt Haycook was able to score three points at the end of the first period just before time expired. He was able to hold his opponent scoreless and won via 5-0 decision.
Graduate student
Matthew Beyer got off to a frantic start and held a 3-1 lead within the first 45 seconds of the match and was able to earn a fall. The Bombers now held a 15-6 lead. Ithaca's
Joseph Averill bumped up to 157 lbs. where he went against Max Yahre who held a 4-1 lead after an escape point in the second period. Yahre ended up winning the match via a 12-6 decision.
At 165 lbs., Ithaca's
Konrad Parker got off to a dominating start with a pair of early takedowns. He continued to score into the second period, building a 14-3 advantage and ended up pinning his opponent. It was pretty ho-hum start for
Jackson Gray, but he earned a big takedown with under five seconds to go in the first period and curated a 6-1 lead and eventually garnered a major decision (10-2).
Jake Jones got off to a fast start with two straight takedowns over James DeLucia and continued to overpower him, eventually earning a pin in 1:06. The Bombers now owned a team lead of 31-9 but dropped the 197 lbs. matchup. In the final bout Ithaca's
Jeremy Mazzella battled Jhordyn Innocent and gained an early 3-1 advantage and continued to fight, eventually winning the match by pin, allowing Ithaca to take the win over SUNY Oneonta, 37-15 with Mazzella's fall (3:47).

Cosmo Damiani was once again first up at 125 lbs., as he squared off against Chris Hong from Wesleyan University and Damiani earned a reversal and crossface to make it 5-4 after the first period. After both got escape points, it was evened up at seven points apiece, but Damiani earned a takedown. The third period ended up being the closest, Damiani controlled the final minute or so, and scored yet another takedown and won the match via 13-8 decision.
Isaias Torres who came in as a contender in the most recent d3wrestle.com rankings that were released earlier in the week at 133 took on Max Martinez and it ended it being quick work for Torres pinning his opponent in 1:33. The Bombers now held a 9-0 team lead, but Brandon Ribiero fell to the Cardinal's Hayden Meyers. Wesleyan forfeited the 149 lbs. weight class, giving
Matthew Beyer the win. Next up at 149 lbs. was first year
Braden Edwards who trailed 3-0 after the first period, and 9-1 after the second. He eventually fell via 11-4 decision.
At 165 lbs.,
Konrad Parker took on Ciaran Edwards and at 2:25 of the first period Parker was able to secure the pin.
Jackson Gray muscled Lucas Hughes down for a takedown for the early 3-0 lead and eventually secured the pin at 2:03. The Bombers now led 27-7 going into the last three bouts.
Jake Jones was once again victorious, as he collected a pin in 51 seconds. It was another pin for the Bombers this time doing the trick, was
Trey Darmody-Latham. In the final matchup between Ithaca's
Jeremy Mazzella and Kolton Gagnon, Mazzella got off to a fast start with an early take down, sweeping the leg out from under his opponent. He earned another big time takedown in the second period and eventually won the matchup via 16-4 decision. The Bombers improved to 2-0 on the afternoon and 11-5 overall.

The Bombers won the first matchup with
Cosmo Damiani collecting a forfeit to give IC the 6-0 lead. At 133 lbs., Torres was looking to score early and often racking up a 9-3 lead 1:30 into the matchup against Donnie Morten. Eventually, he was able to secure the 21-5 technical fall, boosting the Bombers lead to 11-0.
Next up,
Matt Haycook was able to show his prowess on the mat as he scored two different takedowns before eventually securing the fall (2:05).
Matthew Beyer was once again his usual dominant self as he secured the pin over Caleb Seyfried in 2:02.
Braden Edwards took to the mat at 157 lbs., where he squared off against Sean Tansey and it proved to be ultra-competitive match with the score tied 5-5 at the end of the first period. It was back and forth in the second as well with both opponents scoring as William's Tansey led 10-8.
Braden Edwards was able to mount his comeback, scoring four-straight on a reversal and crossface, securing the 11-10 decision.
Up 26-0, the Bombers continued to dominate with
Konrad Parker scoring seven unanswered to begin the second period, including a huge takedown, and led 7-1 going into the third period. He wrestled a smart third period to secure the 11-6 decision.
Jackson Gray was able to string together a few solid moves, and built a 10-2 advantage midway through the second, and had a 13-3 lead going into the third. Gray went on to win with a technical fall (19-4).
At 184,
Jake Jones took on Zach Borzio and Jones was impressive garnering his third pin of the afternoon, this time it came in 1:03. It was another pin for Ithaca as
Trey Darmody-Latham secured the fall in 1:13 over Wyatt Moyer.
The Bombers were able to secure the dual win, sweeping all weight classes against the Ephs with
Jeremy Mazzella securing the pin and win over Tim Brown (1:14).
