ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team competed against Brockport for the fourth time this season as the Bombers hosted the Golden Eagles for the Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational in Ben Light Gymnasium on February 18. Ithaca was topped by Brockport, 192.050-18.550
The Bombers started things off on vault and came out with a strong performance of 47.650 as all six gymnasts scored over 9.375.
Hana Miller and
Natalie Steed posted breakout routines with 9.625, while
Jillian Freyman and
Grace Murray each scored 9.500.
Caitlin Pellegrino earned 9.400 and
Cassidy Gallivan led off the rotation with 9.375.
Ithaca moved over to bars and struggled with a 44.575 as only two gymnasts scored over 9.200.
Marlena Bailey was the top performer with 9.525 and
Kaylie Goodwin earned 9.200. Steed had 8.925 as the third-best routine in the rotation.
IC ventured over to beam for the third round and received 47.300.
Emily Kobusky broke her own school record, which was tied with
Cameryn Nichols, with a performance of 9.875. Goodwin also turned in a solid routine with 9.675, while Pellegrino was awarded 9.550. Freyman scored 9.175 and
Abby Chesshire turned in 9.025.
Taylor Arias also competed on beam and scored 8.975.
Ithaca concluded the meet on a high note with 48.025 on floor. Murray and Freyman led the way with 9.750 and 9.700, while Pellegrino was close behind with a score of 9.600.
Corey Foster turned in a routine of 9.575, while Chesshire and
Taylor Arias completed the rotation with 9.400 and 9.300.
The Bombers host Cortland next Saturday, February 25 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
