ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team carried out a 91-36 win on Friday evening against Bard College. Nearly all of the Bombers tallied points on the night, and the team as a whole shot 54.7% from the field and 52.6% from beyond the arc. The Bombers look to carry on their five-game winning streak tomorrow afternoon for Senior Day in Ben Light Gymnasium.
Ithaca College came out hot with
Camryn Coffey sparking the game with a trey to open the game in a 5-0 run within the first minute.
Jillian Payne added in a good layup in the paint, followed by back-to-back fast break layups from Coffey and
Anya Watkins. Bard was hot from three early on shooting 50% from beyond the arc in the first quarter, but a
Graycen Dubin trey late in the shot clock, and Watkins converting a layup made it a 20-12 game heading into the second quarter.
Camryn Coffey stayed hot during the second knocking down an early three, when
Hannah Polce chipped in a three-pointer right after making it a 9-0 run for the Bombers.
Isabella Mittelman came out firing from the bench hitting a jumper right off the bat making it a 31-14 game.
Annabella Yorio began a run late in the second quarter having back-to-back layups in the paint. Isabella Mittleman and
Tori Drevna had a pair of threes late in the quarter that continued to propel Ithaca's offense. The quarter was capped off with an
Elizabeth Majka steal to fast-break layup to send the Bombers into halftime leading 49-20.
The Bombers held Bard to nine points in the third quarter with tough defense all around. The Bombers converted on 10-of-14 shooting from the field and made 4-of-5 shots from downtown during the third to extend their lead.
The fourth quarter was a complete Bombers takeover with
Graycen Dubin began the period with back-to-back layups, and
Grace McNamara ended up going 4-of-8 from the free throw line.
Aila Dervisevic had a tough three-pointer late in the game, and
Isabella Mittelman stayed hot going 4-of-6 from the field and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Ithaca had a field day, with
Camryn Coffey knocking down 18 points followed by
Isabella Mittelman with 11.
Annabella Yorio was on the cusp of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Ithaca had 54 rebounds, and 28 assists on the night. The Bombers had 53 points come from the bench in the all-around strong team win.
Next up, the Bombers will return to South Hill for the last game of the regular season against Vassar College, where they celebrate their seniors. Ceremony is slated to start prior to tip-off, which will take place at 2 p.m. in Ben Light Gymnasium.
