WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team traveled to West Chester University to compete in a quad meet with Brockport and Cortland on January 27 and finished fourth overall with 187.550. West Chester won the meet with 194.075, while Brockport placed second at 192.325 and Cortland finished in third with 189.350.
Ithaca began on floor and shined in the event with 48.450, which was the second-highest score, behind a 49.000 by West Chester.
Grace Murray scored 9.850, just missing the school record of 9.900, while
Corey Foster turned in 9.775.
Caitlin Pellegrino earned 9.700 and
Jillian Freyman had 9.600.
Abby Chesshire posted a score of 9.525 to round out the top five, while
Taylor Arias finished her routine with 8.750.
IC then moved over to vault in the second rotation and turned in a 46.075. It was a tough afternoon for the Bombers as only two gymnasts scored over 9.400.
Lauren Babineaux was the top performer with 9.575 and Pellegrino was second with 9.450. Freyman earned 9.100 and Murray received 9.000.
Cassidy Gallivan and
Hana Miller each had 8.950.
The Bombers then went over to bars and received 46.800.
Kaylie Goodwin was the top performer with 9.650, while Babineaux turned in a 9.525 routine.
Marlena Bailey and
Coral Cotteleer earned similar scores of 9.400 and 9.375, while Miller and
Skye Cohen received 8.850 and 8.800.
Ithaca finished off the meet on beam and earned 46.225. Freyman was IC's best routine at 9.625, while
Emily Kobusky scored 9.500. Pellegrino received 9.250 and Foster finished with 8.975. Goodwin earned 8.875 and Miller finished out the event with 8.300.
The Bombers are back at home next Sunday, February 4 against Springfield.
