Offense Struggles at Hobart as Men’s Basketball Falls, 62-53

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team lost at Hobart College, 62-53, on Friday night at Bristol Gymnasium. Ithaca is now 10–7 on the season and 5–5 in the Liberty League. The Bombers are now tied for the fourth-place rank in the conference.

Coming off a huge win against Skidmore the Bombers looked strong going into this competitive matchup. Ithaca's offense was evenly highlighted with three players tallying over ten points. Logan Wendell and Triston Wennersten both put up 14 points while Andrew Geschickter trailed closely behind with 12. Unfortunately, these strong offensive efforts fell short to the Statesman's performance.

The Bombers struggled in the first half to find a groove in their offense. Ithaca only made one of their nine three-point attempts and shot 26.9% from the free throw line. Despite trailing behind the entire first half, Ithaca was only ten points behind Hobart, going into the second half with a score of 30-20.

Ithaca's offense did not let up and outscored Hobart 33-32 in the final half of the game. They tallied three three-pointers and were 6-12 from the line. However, their efforts were not enough as the Statesman held the lead for the entire 20 minutes. This nine-point loss marks the Bombers seventh on the season as they continue their fight in the Liberty League conference.

The Bombers will travel to Schenectady, N.Y. tomorrow evening for a Liberty League matchup against Union College at 5 p.m.
