TROY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team bested the competition on Saturday as the team earned dual victories over Cortland, RPI and Skidmore as part of the Henry Kumpf Invitational. The Bombers saw
Kailee Payne break a pool record on the 1-meter boards as she put together an 11-dive total of 306.55 as she led the way for IC as they ended up sweeping the top-3 places within both diving events.
The Bombers began their afternoon by winning the 400-yard medley relay with
Katie Champagne,
Spencer Carroll,
Kathleen Papiernik,
Samantha Bender besting the field by just nearly two seconds. In the 1000-yard freestyle
Alex Eakin earned a second-place result touching the final wall with a recorded time of 11:11.20. It proved to be a super competitive 50-yard freestyle with RPI's Vera Korff (25.03) winning the race, but IC's
Spencer Carroll and
Samantha Bender both tied for third with their time of 23.35.
