MADISON, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team returned to action on Friday in its final competition of the fall season, the 2023 ITA Northeast Regionals. Hosted once again by Drew University, the competition features the best student-athletes in the Northeast region.
Senior
Nicolas Luis got underway with a matchup against Juniata's Franisco Aran, which ended up being a thriller. Luis ended up battling to the end but dropped the set 8-6.
First year
Gijs Fidler was successful in his first-ever singles match at the ITA Regional as he went on to defeat Yeshiva University's Issac Betish, 8-0.
In doubles action Fidler paired up with fellow first year
Emiliano Pedrero where they successfully defeated Union's Keita Fukishama and Austin Gregory by an 8-4 final.
All competition on Friday was held to just one set due to heavy rain in the New York/New Jersey Metro area.
