ITHACA, N.Y. – Upperclassman duo
Allison Arndt and
Taylor Volmrich from the Ithaca College women's rowing program were named 2023 Pocock Racing Shells All-America Athletes, as announced by the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) on Thursday. Arndt earned First Team honors as Volmrich placed on the Second Team.
To meet the criteria for Pocock All-America selection, a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution and have rowed in at least 75 percent of the season's races in the varsity boat. Boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements, and 2,000-meter erg scores are also considered.
The Bombers pair each rowed in Ithaca's varsity eight throughout the season. They both helped guide the IC boat to its fifth consecutive Liberty League title, they were crowned champions at the New York State Championship and also posted a bronze finish at the 2023 NCAA Championships in the Grand Final.
