PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Ithaca College women's rowing team was back in action on Saturday at the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships as both the varsity eight (V8+) and the second varsity eight (2V8+) competed in the Grand Finals on the Cooper River. The Bombers 1V earned bronze medals with a third-place finish.
Wellesley College won the NCAA team title with a first place in the first varsity race, and second place (behind Bates College) in the 2V grand final. The Bombers took sixth in the 2V8+ Grand Final. The IC crew of coxswain

Erika Elcsisin as they finished with a time of 7:27.411, which ended up being just under 17 seconds behind Bates.
It was an exciting and competitive race in the 1V grand final as Ithaca and Tufts were neck-and-neck to medal in the race as the Bombers ended up edging out the Jumbos by just two-tenths of a second. The Ithaca crew crossed the finish line with a time of 7:12.691 compared to the 7:12.891 for Tufts.
The Bombers 1V lineup consisted of the likes of

Devi de Oliveira. They got off to a great start as they led after the first 500 meters (1:44.475) and their final push earned them bronze medals. Wellesley won the race with a recorded time of 7:06.275, with IC finishing 6.416 seconds behind them.
