Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 17 Women’s Lacrosse Blanks Bard, 24-0, as Moore Earns 100th Win

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 17 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team improved to 8-3 on the season and 5-1 in the Liberty League with a 24-0 shutout win at Bard College on Friday afternoon. The victory also marked the 100th career win for head coach Karrie Moore, who is now just the second coach in IC women's lacrosse history to reach that plateau – Andrea Golden won 118 games from 1981 to 1995.

The 24 goals scored are the third-most in a single game.

Ithaca jumped out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and then added five more goals in the second period to take a 19-0 advantage into intermissions. The Bombers then scored three goals in the third quarter and two more in the fourth to account for the 24-0 final. IC outshot Bard, 39-3, and won 20-of-26 draws in the contest.

Maizy Veitch was IC's leading scorer with four goals and three assists for seven points, while Lexi Kellish, Caroline Wise, Sydney Phillips and Leigh Naturale all recorded hat tricks. Hayley Armstrong picked up three points on three assists, while Chloe Nordyke tallied four points on three assists and one goal.

Gabby Rivera (two goals), Lily Cody (1G, 1A), Kristina Rae (1G, 1A) and Maddie Hall (1G, 1A) each contributed two points. Elizabeth Green, Tess Ferguson and June O'Reilly also factored into the scoring for IC.

All three goalies appeared in the game as Lexi Held earned the win with one save in the first quarter. Kayla Howley played 30 minutes and made one save, while Jocelyn Cote played the final 15 minutes of action.

The Bombers are back in action tomorrow at Vassar College.
