SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Ithaca College softball team swept Skidmore College on Saturday afternoon, taking game one by a score of 3–0 and game two by a score of 9–2. Riley Piromalli and Anna Cornell led the Bombers in the circle, allowing a combined five hits between both games. The Bombers gave its pitchers early run support, comfortably securing both wins.

Game One, Ithaca College 3, Skidmore College 0 (F)

The Bombers got the day started with a game one shutout victory. The Bombers took an early lead in the first, adding insurance runs later in the game. Piromalli was lights out in the circle, allowing just three hits.

The Bombers put the pressure on early as Allison Dell'Orto and Hudson Hassler earned back-to-back walks with one out in the top of the first. Both runners advanced a base on two passed balls with Hassler scoring the first run of the game on the second.

Hassler drew another walk to lead off the third inning, advancing to third in the next two at-bats. Olivia Comolli stepped up to the plate with two outs, hitting an infield single to make the score 2–0.

The Thoroughbreds looked at its first big chance to score in the bottom of the fifth inning, putting runners on second and third with no outs. The Bombers defense stepped up as Tava Kasper and Sela Scheinman each caught line drives to get two outs on the board. Piromalli then forced a pop-up to end the inning.

Haley Petrucci got the sixth inning started with a double to right field, later moving to third on a passed ball. Petrucci came home on a sacrifice fly by Belle de Oliveira for a big insurance run to make the score 3–0.

Piromalli allowed a runner in each of the sixth and seventh but closed the door quickly to close out the win. Petrucci and Madison Casale each picked up two hits for the Bombers with de Oliveira and Comolli each driving in a run.

Game Two, Ithaca College 9, Skidmore College 2 (F)

Ithaca got out to another fast start in game two, scoring two in the top of the first. Scheinman and Hassler led off the game with consecutive singles and Dell'Orto walked to load the bases. Kasper flew out to right field, allowing Scheinman to come home and a Suzie Williams groundout to second base to bring Hassler home gave the Bomers the 2–0 lead.

Hassler continued her great day at the plate with a lead-off single in the top of the third. Dell'Orto doubled in the next at-bat that put runners on second and third with no outs. In similar fashion as the first inning, Kasper hit a sacrifice fly and Williams advanced a run home with a groundout for a 4–0 lead.

Anna Cornell cruised through the first four innings with the Thoroughbreds only baserunner coming from an error.

The Bombers added a fifth run in the top of the sixth inning. IC loaded the bases with one out and Scheinman walked to bring home a run.

Cornell would take a no-hitter into the sixth inning but it was broken up by a two-out single to bring home a run. A second hit brought a second run home for the Thoroughbreds to make the score 5–2, but Cornell got out of the inning with a three-run lead.

The Bombers exploded offensively in the seventh for four runs and a 9–2 lead. The Bombers loaded the bases again with no outs, and Petrucci got the first run across from a wild pitch. The Bombers restored its five-run lead with a groundout that scored a run. Casale then doubled to bring home Petrucci and Kailey Collins brought home Casale with another double.
