ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 20 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team defeated RIT on Saturday afternoon, winning 16–8, in a Liberty League matchup at Higgins Stadium. The Bombers improve to 9–5 on the season and 6–3 against Liberty League opponents.

The Bombers were led by Chloe Nordyke with four goals and an assist, and Maizy Veitch with a hat trick. Caroline Wise scored twice and recorded an assist, and Sydney Phillips had a pair of goals as well. The Bombers also got goals from Hayley Armstrong, Lexi Kellish, Elizabeth Green, Lily Cody, and Maddie Hall. Defensively, Cody led the Bombers in ground balls, Liney Dutchyshyn had a team-high four caused turnovers, and Wise recorded 10 draw controls. Lexi Held was in net for the Bombers and made six saves in the win.

The Bombers stumbled out of the gate, as RIT jumped out to a 5–0 lead. Ella Doan scored 37 seconds into the game, and Morgan Nichter and Kate Trojan scored in a flurry to put the Tigers up 4–0 in the first six minutes of the game. Carissa Hlywa scored to cap off the first quarter for RIT, as the Tigers led 5–0. However, in the second quarter, the Bombers flipped the switch. Armstrong got the scoring going for the Bombers two minutes into the frame, and Veitch got the second goal six minutes later. Wise scored an assisted goal from Hall, and Nordyke and Veitch scored two goals in the final 70 seconds to tie the game at 5–5 heading into halftime.

The Bombers dominated the second half, outscoring the Tigers 11–3 in the final two frames. Wise scored the first goal of the third quarter, and after a Tigers goal one minute later, the Bombers scored the next seven, going on a 7–0 run from 7:21 in the third quarter to 7:47 in the fourth quarter. Nordyke scored twice in that span, and Cody, Green, Veitch, Phillips, and Hall scored as well. The Tigers scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, but Phillips, Kellish, and Nordyke washed those out, and the Bombers won 16–8.
