2022 NFCA All-Region Teams
ITHACA, N.Y. – The National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced its All-Region Teams and Ithaca College had a pair of student-athletes selected to the Region III squads. Coming off an outstanding debut season
Anna Cornell was honored on the Second Team and senior
Julia Loffredo was on the Third Team.
A first year righthander from Cape Elizabeth, Maine,
Anna Cornell made 22 appearances, including 16 starts. She went 10-5 with a 2.00 ERA across 87.1 innings pitched. Cornell tied for a team-lead with nine complete games including five shutouts and one combined shutout, she surrendered 30 runs (25 earned) on 76 hits. She tied for a team-best striking out 118 batters, while walking just 12, the Liberty League First Team recipient allowed a .224 opponent batting average.
Julia Loffredo started all 39 games this spring and played first base while batting .324 with eight doubles, four triples, a pair home runs, 25 RBI, 32 runs, eight stoles bases and a .992 fielding percentage. She registered 12 multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3 outing in a win over Pfeiffer, a 3-for-4 performance with four RBI against St. Lawrence and also had three hits in a win over Union. This was her second-consecutive NFCA Northeast Region selection after she was a Second Team selection in 2021.
In her time at Ithaca, Loffredo appeared in 79 games and batted .328 with 75 hits, 14 doubles, six triples, nine homers, and totaled 61 RBI during her four-year career.
Ithaca concluded the season with a 21-17 record and for the second-straight season they earned the No. 2 seed in the Liberty League Championship tournament.
