POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to seven after edging Clarkson University 11-10 in a Liberty League dogfight. It was a back-and-forth affair but a huge third quarter propelled the Bombers to victory as they outscored Clarkson, 4-2. With the triumph, IC runs its record to 8-1 overall on the season with a 1-0 record in Liberty League competition. Clarkson drops to 8-1, 0-1.

Graduate student Connor Brumfield continued to shine in his 2022 campaign, leading the unit with four goals on seven shot attempts. Sophomore John Sramac and first-year Kyle Proctor followed behind by netting two goals each.

Clarkson had more impressive numbers in just about every team statistic, but Ithaca's 44% shot-on-goal ratio proved to be the key difference in the victory.

With just over a minute remaining in the opening half, senior Blake Eischen tacked on another goal to head into the break with a 5-4 advantage. Bryan Penney and Sebastian Geiger led the Golden Knights with two goals apiece.

The Bombers came out firing on all cylinders in the third quarter, going on a deep 4-0 run behind two Brumfield goals.

Clarkson began to forge a late comeback in the final 19 minutes of regulation, outscoring the Bombers 6-2, but a clutch LaForty save with just over a minute remaining allowed IC to hold on for a narrow 11-10 win.
Ithaca College's Liberty League stretch continues next Saturday, April 2 when the squad returns home to take on No. 12 St. Lawrence in a huge conference showdown. Faceoff is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
