ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team opened its 2022 season on the road on Wednesday afternoon and picked up a 7-4 win at SUNY Oneonta. The Bombers defense and goalkeeper Connor Thornton were stingy after the halftime break only allowing one goal in the final 30 minutes.

How it Happened
  • It took the Bombers just 42 seconds to demonstrate the potency of its offensive attack as they got on the score board when Jae Stuhlman fed John Sramac for the first goal of the game. Ithaca maintained that 1-0 lead until Connor Gallagher equalized at the 6:41 mark of the quarter.
  • The Red Dragons netted consecutive goals to open the second quarter to go up 3-1. Ithaca rallied its troops and scored a man up goal, this time it was an unassisted effort from Jake Erickson. The Bombers went into halftime trailing 3-2.
  • John Sramac picked up his second goal of the game a 1:11 into the third as his unassisted effort equalized it for IC. The Bombers once again capitalized on the man up advantage with Jae Stuhlman dishing it to a cutting Jake Erikson who scored at the 11:20 mark.
  • The Bombers put the game away by scoring three goals in the final period. The first was scored on Sramac's third point of the game as he assisted on a goal from Blake Eischen. The Red Dragons netted a goal of their own at the 13:05 mark scoring on the man up with David Guest netting the effort. It was a goal by Jae Stuhlman that was assisted by Jake Erickson that put the Bombers up by two with under five minutes to go.
  • Sramac netted his third goal of the game to cap the scoring and giving the Bombers the three-goal victory.
