SATURDAY RESULTS | FULL CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The 2022 Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships wrapped up on Saturday with Ithaca College just narrowly finishing behind RIT for second with 1,587 points. The Tigers totaled 1,698 team points to win the Liberty League title.
The Bombers saw the individual awards roll in immediately at the conclusion of the 2022 Liberty League Championships with
Jack Wadsworth being named the 2022 Male Swimmer of the Year, while on the heels of winning three individual events,
James Collishaw was named 2021-22 Rookie of the Year.
The Bombers continued to showout in the freestyle races, this time scoring yet another one-two finish with NCAA B-but times recorded by
James Collishaw and
Stanley Zaneski in the 100-yard freestyle. Collishaw won the race by shattering the Liberty League Championship record with a time of 44.99. Zaneski was neck-and-neck with the talented sophomore but fell short in his second place time of 45.06.
Jack Wadsworth continued his outstanding debut at the Liberty League Championships by winning the 200-yard backstroke. He won the race by over five seconds by turning in a finals time of 1:44.95, which shattered the previous meet record. The time also once again represented an NCAA B-cut as he reset his IC program record in the event.
It was a closely contested 1,650-yard freestyle finals as Nicholas Sodi and IC's
Matthew Stevens battling it all the way down to the final 50-yards with RIT's Sodi prevailing for the first-place finish and time of 16:18.21. Stevens finished the race by touching the final wall in 16:21.53, which was a season-best for the first year.
Ethan Mossi grabbed Ithaca College more team points in the 200-yard breaststroke by qualifying for the "A" final. The sophomore swam to an eight-place finish touching the final wall in 2:11.19 as RIT's Brendan Kapp (2:01.42) won the event.
The Bombers once again outclassed the field in a freestyle relay race this time doing the deed in the 400-yard freestyle relay race. The Bombers obliterated not only the Liberty League Championship record, but also the pool and men's program record in recording a first-place time of 2:59.38.

The Bombers will begin postseason events by competing in the NCAA Diving Regional slated to begin Feb. 25-26.
