ITHACA, N.Y. – In what came down to arguably the final events on Sunday at the 11
th Annual Bomber Invitational in the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium, Ithaca College ended up with 1,557.6 points as they were just edged out by the University of Rochester who finished with 1,575.5 team points.
Ithaca's relay team finished the meet on a high note toping UR's group of four.
Ben Young,
Max Braithwaite,
Santiago Ludwig and
James Collishaw teamed up to finish the 400-yard freestyle relay with a recorded time of 3:05.59.
It was an impressive performance for
Matthew Stevens as he took home first in the 1650-yard freestyle edging out the competition by over 11 seconds. He put together a finals time of 16:27.68.
Michael Paulos scored IC team points with a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard IM with a time of 54.54, as right behind him was
Matthew Mitros (54.73) who was sixth.
James Collishaw swam a blazing time of 45.35 to claim first-place in the 100-yard freestyle.
Ben Young was fourth was a recorded time of 46.71.
Max Braithwaite scored himself a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a recorded time of 1:58.39.
In the final individual event of the invite, Ithaca's
Matthew Janssen topped the competition in the 200-yard breaststroke putting together a season-best time of 2:08.28.
The Bombers now break for the semester and return to action on Sunday, January 8 when they will host Hamilton College for a dual in the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.
