No. 14/16 Women’s Basketball Cruises to 66-44 Win over Bard

ITHACA, N.Y – The nationally ranked No. 14/16 Ithaca College women's basketball team defeated Bard College, 66–46, on Saturday afternoon in Ben Light Gymnasium to improve to 6-1 on the season. The Bombers got out to a big 16-point lead after the first quarter, allowing them to control the game for all four quarters and earn its second Liberty League victory in as many games. 
 
The Bombers got out to a hot start scoring on its first three possessions to take a 6–0 lead. Natalie Smith converted a three-point play at the foul line, helping the Bombers take a 13–0 lead before the Raptors ended the run with a three-point basket. Camryn Coffey and Shaelyn Sabino each hit three-pointers as the Bombers increased its lead at the end the first quarter to 22-6 lead.
 
The first five minutes of the second quarter started slow with the Bombers leading 28–10, but a big three-pointer by Isabella Mittelman sparked a 7–0 run to put the Bombers up 35–10 with three minutes to play in the half. The Raptors built some offensive momentum in the final few minutes, but big baskets from Brady Lynch and Anya Watkins allowed the Bombers to retain its big lead at the half with a 40–16 score.
 
Both teams went back-and-forth to open the third quarter with the Bombers leading 47–23. Anabella Yorio scored five straight points in the quarter to help the Bombers increase its lead to 30 midway through the quarter. The Raptors looked to make a run near the end, but a three-pointer and two blocks on the defensive end by Graycen Dubin swung the momentum back in the Bombers favor.
 
The Bombers took a 55–28 lead into the fourth quarter, where they closed out a dominant win by a score of 66-46. Dubin led the Bombers in scoring with 12 points for the Bombers, also adding nine rebounds and four blocks. Smith led the Bombers through the first half scoring 11 points in just 11 minutes on the floor. Mittleman had a career-high nine points on three three-pointers.
 
The Bombers travel to Rochester on Wednesday, December 7 for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
