ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving program hosted SUNY Cortland on Saturday afternoon and came away with a dominant 215-85 victory over the Red Dragons. Several outstanding performances were put together with IC student-athletes finishing one-two on numerous occasions as times continued to improve.
The Bombers won 400-yard medley relay as
Katie Champagne,
Abigail Ignagni,
Emily VanderSleen and
Josephine Holman teaming up for a time of 4:08.17, which was over four seconds faster than the Red Dragons. Holman went on to win the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.34. Champagne bested her teammate
Norah Polonsky (1:03.63) in the 100-yard backstroke with a finals time of 1:01.07.
Emma Kidd won her first-ever collegiate event in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.61 with
Jenna Molnar finishing right behind her at 1:12.51.
Caroline Armistead bested a Cortland swimmer in the 200-yard butterfly winning the event in 2:16.04.
VanderSleen won the 200-yard backstroke as she bested a Red Dragon swimmer with a time of 2:16.88. She was also impressive in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 1:00.31 as she topped two other Bombers.
Ithaca finished one-two in the 50-yard freestyle with
Angela Merch picking up first-place with a time of 25.20 and
Abigail Ignagni was second finishing in 25.23.
Katie Champagne won the 100-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 55.69.
Naomi Fry was crowned the champion of the 200-yard IM with a finals time of 2:18.53.
Reigning Liberty League Diver of the Week
Karalyn Pawcio was victorious on both the 1-meter diving board as well as the 3-meter. Pawcio (286.85) won the 3-meter over
Abby Marraccino who had a score of 258.55. She went on to win the 3-meter competition with finals score of 261.10, which also bested Marraccino who put together a score of 249.45.

Angela Merch were the top team in the 200-yard freestyle relay winning the event with a combined time of 1:40.89.
The Bombers will return to action on Friday, November 11 when they compete against Le Moyne College.
