Krasnove’s First Collegiate Goal Leads Ithaca Past Bard, 1-0

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team secured their first Liberty League victory of the season in a 1-0 win against Bard College on Saturday afternoon.

The Bombers who improve to (2-5-4) and (1-1-2) in conference action broke through in the 37th minute when first year Jared Krasnove split two Bard defenders before sailing a shot past the keeper and into the back of the net. This wound up being both the game winner and the first of his career for Krasnove.

Ithaca was on the attack for the majority of play, totaling eight shots from eight different players and generating three corner kicks. They kept a clean sheet against the Raptors led by first year goalkeeper Johannes Berghahn who got his first start of the season.

With the win, the Bombers currently sit in the sixth spot in the Liberty League standings with just five more conference games to go. They will face a quick 24-hour turnaround, as they go head-to-head with SUNY Cortland on Sunday, October 9 at Carp Wood Field. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
