ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College student-athletes are continuing to put together strong performances together on their respective playing fields as three were named as Liberty League Performers of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The Bombers also had five more student-athletes receive Honor Roll recognition with their respective performances during the week of September 26 – October 2.
Field Hockey Defensive Performer of the Week- Macy Brandwein
Macy Brandwein went 2-0 this week in goal for Ithaca as she recorded seven saves, to just one goal allowed. Brandwein made six saves in a 4-1 win at Scranton and then earned her third shutout of the year with one save in a 1-0 victory against Vassar.
Football Defensive Performer of the Week- Jason Haber
Jason Haber recorded four total tackles, scooped up a fumble and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown during No. 12/13 Ithaca's 31-7 victory at Hobart on Saturday. Haber's fumble return for a score happened just 15 seconds after the Bombers scored on offense following an interception.
Women's Golf Performer of the Week- Rheanna DeCrow
Rheanna DeCrow posted her best collegiate performance at the Ithaca Invitational as she carded a 149 (+5) over the weekend with a 75 and 74. DeCrow led by a stroke after Saturday's round but was surpassed by St. Rose's Erika Fuentes on Sunday after an even par 72.
HONOR ROLL
Danny Jagoe put together a masterful performance at the Lehigh Paul Short Run as he was the runner-up out of 340 runners in the College White 8K in a time of 25:00.9.
Morgan Mullen tallied three points in a 2-0 week for Ithaca as she assisted on a goal during IC's 4-1 win at Scranton and then scored the game-winning goal with 1:39 remaining in the contest against Vassar to give the Bombers a 1-0 win.
Megan Buttinger scored the game-winning goal in Ithaca's 1-0 Liberty League win over St. Lawrence as the Bombers improved to 6-2-2 overall. Buttinger's thrilling goal was scored in the 69
th minute as she made a great run with the ball into the box, shaking off a hard challenge from the last defender before burying the shot into the bottom left corner.
In another 3-0 week for the Bombers,
Maddie Cox put together two strong performances including a 31 assist, seven digs and three kill effort in IC's first Liberty League win of the season over RIT. Cox followed it up with 27 assists, two blocks, six digs and three more kills in the three-set win over SUNY Brockport (28-26, 26-24, 25-17). Ithaca now has won nine-straight and sit at 12-3 overall.
Julia Costa was all across the backline in a perfect 3-0 week for the Bombers the talented libero played in each set totaling 36 digs. She put together 16 in the three-set win over SUNY Brockport (28-26, 26-24, 25-17) and was a big reason why momentum swung with five service aces at Nazareth.
