ITHACA, N.Y. – After a historic 2021 season, which ended in the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship with a 14-2 record, the Ithaca College women's lacrosse team is eager to return to action and will begin the 2022 season as the No. 7 team in the country according to Nike/USA Lacrosse Magazine. The top 20 preseason poll was released on December 30.
Ithaca, which finished the regular season with an 11-0 record (16-game winning streak dating to 5-0 shortened season in 2020), earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship after losing to William Smith (No. 6) in the Liberty League Championship, 17-13. The Bombers then won two games in the NCAA Tournament – 23-1 over Notre Dame (Md.) and 16-11 over then No. 2 Washington & Lee. IC's season came to a close with a loss to eventual national champion and current No. 1 Salisbury.
The Bombers sported a senior-heavy roster (12 players) in 2021, and due to COVID and eligibility rules, four of them return for this spring –

The 2022 senior class of

Lillian Matz and
Kelly Mehorter will look to step into larger roles this spring.
Mackenzie Farrar and

Lexi Kellish,
Maizy Veitch,
Caroline Wise,
Maggie Mandel,
Sydney Phillips,
Liney Dutchyshyn,
Chloe Nordyke and
Lexi Held.
Head coach
Karrie Moore, now in her seventh season, and her newly appointed assistant,

The Bombers open their 2022 season at No. 15 Brockport on February 26 and then take on No. 14 Cortland on March 2 in Cortland. IC's home opener is slated for March 12 against Scranton and its Liberty League opener takes place on March 19 at Higgins Stadium against RPI.
