TROY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team improved to 15-3 overall and 10-1 within the Liberty League with an impressive and dominant performance on Saturday winning 79-36. The victory marked the 10
th in a row for the Bombers who sit in second-place within the Liberty League behind Vassar College with seven games remaining in the regular season.

- It was a balanced scoring attack with stellar defense that helped power Ithaca to the victory. The Bombers finished the contest shooting 50.8% from the field, which was their second-best percentage this season.
- Ashlyn O'Neil finished as the leading scorer for the Engineers with 10 points in 31 minutes. Lolo Reynolds tallied nine points for RPI.
- RPI were held to a combined 27.8% shooting performance from the floor hitting just 4-of-12 shots from downtown. With the loss, the Engineers fell to 3-12 overall and 2-8 in the Liberty League.
- The Bombers bench outscored RPI by a 50-6 margin as IC was also dominant in the paint scoring 44 points in that area while holding RPI to just 14 points in the paint.
How it Happened
- The Bombers were red-hot to open the contest on Saturday opening on an 8-0 run that was capped with a Megan Yawman 3-pointer. IC continued to build momentum within the quarter with a Cara Volpe layup putting the Bombers up 16-7 with 5:11 left in the quarter. The first double-digit lead was finally achieved after trading buckets, Hannah Polce nailed a 3-pointer from the wing that put her team up 24-14. Ithaca carried a 30-16 advantage into the second quarter.
- Ithaca produced outstanding defense to open the second period holding the Engineers scoreless for the opening five-plus minutes of the quarter. During that time period IC scored 14 unanswered points to earn the 44-16 commanding lead. Overall, the Bombers held RPI to just 1-of-11 shooting in the period and were unable to hit from downtown as Ithaca went into the halftime break up 53-19. The Bombers had an outstanding first half shooting 64.5% (20-of-31) from the floor and 55.6% (5-of-9) from 3-point range.
- Ithaca further distanced themselves from RPI in the third quarter outscoring the Engineers 13-7 by the end of the quarter they led by 40 points (66-26). Kelly Lamarre and Annabella Yorio each had nice individual efforts to knockdown jumpers within the period.
- The Bombers continued to display their depth in the fourth quarter as they finished with 16 players scoring at least one point and everyone on the roster playing at least five minutes. Megan Yawman finished as the leading scorer for Ithaca with nine points.
The Bombers are back in action on Tuesday, February 4 with a Liberty League road contest at Union College. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
