ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's and women's cross country teams hosted their annual Jannette Bonrouhi-Zakaim Memorial Run on Saturday morning, September 4 on campus. Alumni runners and their families attended the event, along with current runners and coaches to participate in the five-kilometer run. This was the first time IC hosted the annual run since August 31, 2019, as the pandemic canceled last year's gathering.
Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Famer Jannette Bonrouhi-Zakaim, whom the run is named after, was a four-time cross country All-American and a six-time track and field All-American. The run provided an opportunity for both teams to race against alumni prior to beginning of the 2021 season, which takes place on September 11 at the Hamilton College Short Course Invite in Clinton, N.Y.
A total of 84 runners competed in the 5K on Saturday – 52 for the men and 32 for the women.
On the men's side, the top three placements went to current student-athletes –
Benjamin Tiber,
Danny Jagoe and
Joshua Endy.
Conrad West finished fifth and
James Hughes took eighth.
The top men's alumni runner was Seth Tucker, who finished in fourth.
For the women, IC placed second to ninth from the current roster.
Sophia Roy finished as the runner-up in 20:0:03, while
Meredith Garrity came in third at 20:17.

The top women's runner was 2019 national champion,

Prior to the 5K, a kids' race was held for children of the alumni to compete in.Â
