ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College Department of Athletics and the Provost Office hosted their fifth annual scholar-athlete luncheon on April7, but on this occasion, it was held virtually.

More than 70 student-athletes from 25 of Ithaca's 27 sponsored varsity programs were honored during the virtual ceremony. Each student-athlete has obtained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or higher since their arrivals to South Hill three or four years ago.

Associate Director of Athletics, Will Rothermel, and Associate Chair of Physical Therapy and Faculty Athletic Representative, Barb Belyea, spearheaded the initiative to honor the student-athletes' performances in the classroom, and worked in conjunction with the Provost Office along with Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, La Jerne Terry Cornish.

Below is a 15-minute video created to honor the student-athletes. Within the presentation, Rothermel, Belyea, Cornish, Vice President Rosanna Ferro, Associate Director of Athletics Erienne Roberts and Director of Athletics Susan Bassett '79 each recorded messages to the student-athletes. Along with these messages, head coaches and faculty members submitted remarks.
