ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 Liberty League loss to the University of Rochester on Wednesday afternoon at the Lyman Tennis Center. Ithaca drops to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in Liberty League play.

Despite the disparity in the overall match result, Ithaca played tough throughout singles and doubles play.

Caroline Herz was the lone winner for IC on the day, with a 6-4, 1-8, 10-8 triumph at fifth singles.

Zoe Davis took her opponent to three sets at second singles in a defeat, 6-2, 0-6, 3-10, as did Sara Steinberg at fourth singles, 1-6, 6-3, 2-10.

In doubles play, Steinberg and Davis lost in a tiebreak, 8-7 (7-3), while Herz and Sarah Sposito narrowly lost at third singles, 8-6.

The Bombers travel to Vassar College this Saturday, April 17 for a 12 p.m. matchup.
