ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team improved to 3-1 on the season and 1-1 in the Liberty League with a convincing, 7-2, victory over the University of Rochester on Wednesday afternoon at the Lyman Tennis Center. The win over UR marks the first for Ithaca against the Yellowjackets since 2016.

The Bombers got off to a dominant start in the match as they swept doubles competition. All three matches were tightly-contests throughout.

Minos Stavrakas and Deon Kraft won at first doubles, 8-6, while Eric Dubilirer and Anthony Villella took down their second doubles opposition, 8-6, as well.

At third doubles, Nicolas Luis and Jacob Wachs posted an 8-4 win to give IC a 3-0 lead.

IC lost at first and sixth singles, but the other four matches went in favor of the Bombers. Luis breezed through at second singles, 6-1, 6-3. Dubilirer took down his fourth singles counterpart, 6-4, 6-2, and Kraft prevailed at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-3. Artem Khaybullin outlasted his third singles opponent, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5.

The Bombers travel to Vassar College this Saturday, April 17 for a 12 p.m. matchup.
