RESULTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team competed in its first outdoor meet since the end of the 2019 season and came away with a convincing dual win at Cortland on Saturday, 121-67.
The top two placements in each event by the two colleges were factored into team scores.
Senior
Parley Hannan blew away the field and Ithaca's school record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:17.94. Hannan won the event by 2:42 and surpassed the previous school record by 18 seconds, which was set by Taryn Cordani in 2017 – 16:35.71. Hannah's race is also the fifth-fastest time in NCAA Division III history.
Junior
Katelyn Hutchison won the 100-meter dash in 12.56 seconds. Hutchison also won the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 25.89 seconds.
Senior
Sarah Lachenmayr was the top performer in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.32. Junior
Lauren Lobdell prevailed in the 800-meter run in 2:19.03.
Graduate student
Lindsay Scott completed the 1500-meter run in 4:48.99 to place first overall. Senior
Juliann Terry posted a mark of 3.60 meters, while sophomore
Sara Brown measured out 5.16 meters in the long jump to win the event. Senior
Molly Sear recorded the top mark in the triple jump at 10.38 meters.
IC ran in the 4x100-meter relay and posted a time of 49.45 seconds. Hutchison and sophomore
Tia Jones, Brown and
Ayenaliz Velasquez ran on the relay. Ithaca's other relay squad of Lobdell, graduate student
Maggie Nickerson and sophomores
Julia Tomanovich and
Giana Haubrich were second in 4:13.91.
The Bombers also took first in the 4x400-meter relay as Scott, junior
Logan Bruce and
Sophia Roy and sophomore
Rachel Rose posted a time of 4:10.78.
Seniors
Ariyahna Bernard and
Samantha Healy took the top two spots in the shot put with marks of 12.49 and 11.72 meters. Bernard also won the hammer throw with a performance of 48.69 meters. Sophomore
Madeline Adzigian measured out 34.81 meters in the javelin to win the event.
Roy was a second place runner in the 1500 at 5:08.04, while sophomore
Ava Fowler finished second in the 5K at 18:59.74. Bruce also finished second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.38 seconds and javelin at 31.89 meters. Senior
Julia Nomberg took second in the long jump with a mark of 4.95 meters.
Jones was second in the 100 at 12.66 seconds and took second in the 200 at 26.41 seconds. Rose was a runner-up in the 800 at 2:22.83. Junior
Meghan Matheny finished the pole vault with a clearance of 3.50 meters to finish in second. Senior
Liana Shames secured second in the hammer at 46.62 meters.
Sophomore
Madison Martinez and senior
Sydney Strelec went 2-3 in the 400-meter hurdles with times of 1:15.08 and 1:17.53. Sophomore
Kalena Yearwood was a runner-up in the discus at 32.59 meters, while Healy finished third at 30.48 meters and was third in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.46 meters.
Sophomore
Moriah Byrd cleared 1.40 meters in the high jump to finish third overall, was third in the shot put at 10.70 meters and third in the javelin at 30.66 meters. Sophomore
Grace Clark came in third in the triple jump at 10.06 meters. Brown clocked a time of 12.97 seconds in the 100 to finish in third, while Nickerson claimed third in the 800 with a time of 2:23.77. Sophomore
Meredith Garrity took third in the 5K at 19:16.98. Sophomore
Grace Clark took third in the 110 hurdles in 17.29 seconds. First-year
Sara Altonen took third in the pole vault at 3.40 meters.
Ithaca is back in action next Saturday, April 3 at Rochester.
