ITHACA, N.Y. – On Tuesday afternoon, December 14, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its 2021 All-America teams, which honored 48 student-athletes across NCAA Division III, and senior Jacqueline Mirabile of Ithaca College was named to the third team. Mirabile becomes the 29th All-American in program history, marking back-to-back seasons in which a Bomber was selected as an All-American by the NFHCA (Morgan Mullen in 2019).

Honored as one of four defenders on the third team, Mirabile started and played in all 19 games for the Bombers this season. IC posted one of its most successful years in program history, earning the No. 1 seed in the Liberty League Championship, and recording the fifth-most wins in a season with 14.

Offensively, Mirabile tallied three goals and two assists for eight points. She netted one game-winning goal on the year against Misericordia on September 8 and inserted nearly every penalty corner chance for the Bombers all season.

On the defensive end, Mirabile notched one defensive save and played a major role in Ithaca's stingy backline all season. IC allowed just 17 goals over 19 games to rank 13th nationally in goals against average at 0.88 and were also 13th in total goals allowed. The Bombers logged seven shutouts on the season to finished in the top 40 nationally.

When the Bombers led late in contests and needed to maintain possession to kill the clock, they routinely turned to Mirabile to take control of the ball and ice the game with her sure-handed stick skills.

Over her career, Mirabile was a two-time NFHCA All-Region selection as well as a two-time All-Liberty League performer. She was named to the NFHCA Academic Squad three times and recorded 13 goals and five assists.

The NFHCA Division III All-American announcement is the third in a list of postseason awards from the NFHCA. The association has already released the 2021 NFHCA Division III All-Region teams and the 2021 NFHCA Division III Regional Players of the Year. The NFHCA National Player of the Year will be announced on December 16.
