COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 2025
NFHCA Division III All-Region teams sponsored by
Apex Field Hockey on December 3. Ithaca College earned two spots as senior midfielder
Eliza Ballaro was a first team honoree and senior defender
Reese Abrahamson was second team for Region III.
Division III teams are separated into six regions and each of these regions recognizes up to 16 student-athletes on both the first team and second teams.
Ballaro, a captain on this year's team, started all 19 games for the Bombers this season and accounted for four goals and three assists for 11 points, which ranked fourth on the team. She tallied two game-winners on the season and played a crucial role for the Bombers on both sides of the field.
She adds this honor to a Liberty League First Team selection from earlier this season.
Abrahamson was a captain on the 2025 squad and appeared in all 19 games on one of the stingiest defensive units in all of Division III. Ithaca ranked eighth nationally in goals against average and posted nine shutouts during the 12-7 campaign.
For her career, Abrahamson played in 67 contests with 39 starts. She was named First Team All-Liberty League this season, to go along with All-Academic honors for the third straight year. Abrahamson has also been named to the NFHCA Academic Squad four times. She was also named to the NFHCA Senior Team.
The
NFHCA Division III All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of NFHCA postseason awards over the next several weeks. Next to be announced are the
NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on December 11, followed by the
NFHCA All-American teams on December 16 and the
NFHCA National Player of the Year on December 18.
