ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team hosted its final dual meet of the year on Saturday afternoon against Liberty League foe Union College. The Bombers defeated the Dutchmen 216.00-51.00.

Prior to the start of the meet, Ithaca honored its seniors:

Swimming

Ithaca opened up the day with a first and second place finish in the 200 medley relay, led by the team of
Tim Hector,
Andrew Mikhailichenko,
Matt Crysler and
Michael Sheehan in first after swimming to a time of 1:38.88.

The team of
Carter Matteson,
Anthony Porto,
Daniel Meyers and
Nate Bartalo claimed second place with a time of 1:39.50.

The Bombers followed that up with another one-two finish in the 1,000 freestyle.

First-year
Max Bridges claimed the top spot with a time of 10:14.58, followed by first-year
Holden Shatouhy in second with a time of 10:23.71. Senior Pat Daly also finished among the top five, taking fourth after swimming to a time of 10:32.

Ithaca continued its successful day in the 200 freestyle, taking the top four spots.

Porto led the charge with a first-place finish in 1:49.78, followed by Meyers in second with a time of 1:50.21. Senior
Nick Bonnabeau claimed third after swimming to a time of 1:50.80 while
A.J. Bances wrapped up the top four with a fourth-place finish in 1:51.89.

Hector, a sophomore, was victorious in the 50 freestyle, racing to a quick time of 22.34. Crysler came in second with a time of 22.88 while first-year
Christian Stangeby finished third in 23.51. Bances rounded out IC entries, taking fourth in 23.92.

In the 100 freestyle, Porto claimed his second first-place finish of the day, winning the field in 51.24.
Liam Maginnis took second in 52.07 while first-year
Shane Conroy notched a fourth-place finish in 53.59.

Bridges was successful again, this time in the 200 backstroke, taking first in 2:03.03. First-year
Holden Shatouhy finished third, swimming to a time of 2:04.15.

Mikhailichenko was the victor in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in 2:09.94. Fellow senior
Augie Carlozzi took second behind Mikhailichenko, racing to a time of 2:19.75.

In a fitting manner for senior day, Bonnabeau also won an individual race, taking the 500 freestyle in 4:58.39.
Dylan Haraden claimed second with a time of 5:00.70 while
Michael Sheehan finished fourth in 5:07.99.
Reilly Kleinhen rounded out the top five with a time of 5:08.29.

Another senior – Bartalo – won the 100 fly, racing to a time of 52.19 for first place. Porto took fourth with a time of 54.41 while Hector claimed fifth in 54.45.

Mikhailichenko came out on top once again, this time in the 200 IM, claiming first in 2:00.13. Matteson took third with a time of 2:04.95 while Carlozzi finished in fourth after swimming to a time of 2:05.25.

In the final race of the day, the 400 freestyle relay, IC swept the top three spots.

The team of Meyers, Haraden, Bonnabeau and Bartalo won the field with a time of 3:21.86. Hector, Maginnis, Stangeby and Sheehan took second in 3:26.28 while the team of Bridges, Daly, Conroy and Kleinhen came in third with a time of 3:34.10.

Diving

Ithaca swept the 3-meter board, as Union had no entries.

Junior
Justin Moczynski led the field with 295.05 points while first-year
Ethan Godfrey took second with a score of 290.60. Senior
Benjamin Pesco rounded out the competition in third with 217.10 points.

The Bombers were also the only team to have entries on the 1-meter board, led by Moczynski in first with a score of 504.90. Godfrey was not far behind, claiming second with 498.05 points while Pesco took third with a score of 329.45.

First-years
Michael Salvino and
Theo Summerville also competed, notching scores of 303.25 and 159.50, respectively.

Ithaca's divers return to action next Saturday with the Ithaca Invitational. Both swimming and diving will then have a break until the Liberty League Championships start on Wednesday, February 19.
