ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team held off William Smith en route to a 60-48 victory on Saturday afternoon in Ben Light Gymnasium. The Bombers are now 7-3 overall with an unblemished 4-0 mark in conference play.

Senior
KellyAnne O'Reilly led the Bombers with 14 points on 5-for-13 shooting to go with five rebounds, two steals and a block. Sophomore
Lindsey Albertelli scored a career-high 12 points in 16 minutes of play, grabbed four rebounds and recorded three steals.

Junior
Megan Yawman rounded out double-digit scorers with 10 points as well as three assists and a steal. Senior
Cassidy O'Malley scored nine points and led the Bombers with eight rebounds on the day to go with three steals.

After starting out relatively evening, William Smith took a slight, 10-6 lead midway through the first quarter. That would be the biggest lead of the quarter for the Herons, but they would maintain an edge until the final minute of play.

O'Reilly netted a fastbreak layup with 57 seconds on the clock to give IC a one-point, 15-14 advantage and then drilled a 3-pointer with just 12 seconds left to push the Bombers' lead to 18-14 after one.

Albertelli opened up the second quarter with back-to-back layups in the first two minutes to extend Ithaca's edge to eight points, 22-14.

Things continued to be a close battle between the local foes, but Ithaca went on to score the final 10 points of the quarter to head into halftime with a 33-19 lead. The Bombers defense played a large party in securing the double-digit lead, as IC held the Herons to 0-for-9 during the second quarter.

Ithaca continued to build its lead in the third quarter, leading by as many as 17 points.

A layup from Yawman and a bucket from junior
Grace Cannon with 6:36 remaining pushed the Bombers lead to 37-23. The Herons would go on to close the gap to just nine points with 2:22 on the clock following a free throw from Olivia Parisi.

Six straight points – two layups and two free throws – from Albertelli put the Bombers back up by double-digits, 46-31, with 1:34 left in the quarter. A fastbreak 3-pointer from Yawman with 36 second left gave IC its biggest lead of the game, 49-32.

William Smith's Stella Davis hit a layup to start an 8-0 run for the Herons with 6:59 left in regulation, which closed the gap to just seven points. Isabella Mitrow followed that up with a layup and Lauren DeVaney netted a jumper. Davis closed out the run with a fastbreak layup with 4:36 remaining, cutting IC's edge to 51-44.

Seven points would be the closed the Herons would come to the Bombers' lead, however, as IC ultimately held off any further attacks on the way to the 12-point lead.

The Bombers finished just over 37 percent on 23-for-61 shooting, as well as 3-for-9 from three.

Ithaca is back in action for another home contest on Tuesday evening against Liberty League foe RIT. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. and will be a rematch of last season's conference final.
