ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team carried its momentum from a dominant victory over Vassar this past Saturday when it continued Liberty League action on Wednesday afternoon in a road match at RIT. The Bombers maintained the impressive form, winning eight of the nine official matchups on the day, as well as all three exhibition bouts. The performance helped the Bombers even their Liberty League record at 2-2 on the season.

The Bombers set the tone for the day with another excellent run of play in the doubles session, which netted IC a 2-1 lead to begin the day. Ithaca's victories came in the first and third slots, both coming convincingly.
The junior tandem of

Colten Lavery got the day started for Ithaca with an 8-3 triumph over RIT's combo of Jacob Meyerson and Brennan Bull. IC's third pairing of senior
Sam McGrath and junior
Liam Spiegel followed shortly thereafter with an 8-3 win of their own over Jake Wolicki and Carter Casimer in the third doubles matchup. Also picking up a victory in the session, albeit in an exhibition match, were senior
Garrett Boleslav and junior
Sam Fried who won 8-1 over Gabe von Kessel and Mae Yang Li.
The lone defeat of the day for IC came in a really close battle in the second doubles matchup. Senior

Max Prestwich have been dynamite as newly-formed pairing, earning Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week this past Monday. Unfortunately, they were unable to stretch their winning streak to three straight in Liberty League play, as they fell in a tiebreaker to Nick Lim and Patrick Mathews 8-7 (7-3).
The singles session was complete domination for the Bombers. Ithaca swept all six lineup slots, as well as two exhibitions to close out the convincing victory.
Gardiner got things started with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Patrick Mathews in the third-singles matchup. Lavery followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Jake Wolicki in the fourth-singles matchup to put IC in position for the win. Stavrakas clinched the match for the Bombers when he bested Brennan Bull in first-singles in a hard-fought 6-4, 6-2 win. McGrath closed out the first set of matches with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Spencer Lowitt in the second position.
The back half of the lineup was equally as impressive. Prestwich defeated Michael Peters 6-1, 6-3 in convincing sets, while Boleslav continued to impress in the sixth slot with a 6-2, 6-2 win over David Trimmer. Fried and Spiegel also picked up victories in exhibition matches. Fried won 6-1, 6-3 over Nick Lim, while Spiegel reversed the line in a 6-3, 6-1 over Mae Yang Li.
Ithaca is back in action this weekend when it travels to TCNJ for a non-league match at 12:30 p.m.
