Last Time Out – Women
Ithaca earned one of its best victories of the season on Wednesday, edging past NESCAC foe Hamilton for a 14-13 win at Higgins Stadium. The Bombers overcame some serious adversity, battling back from an early four-goal deficit to pull to level terms in the second half. Although IC had three apparent goals taken off the board in the game, the team's resolve held true to the end. Senior attacker
Elizabeth Rice netted the game-winning goal on a free-position with just under two-minutes left in regulation. The defense buckled down in the waning seconds with senior
Reid Simoncini and sophomore
Molly Nodiff each forcing crucial caused turnovers to ensure the 14-13 lead would hold up.
Â
Senior Day
The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team will honor the seven graduating members of its Class of 2019 prior to the Bombers' matchup against RIT. Among IC's senior honorees are: defenders
Reid Simoncini and
Kaylou Stoddard, midfielder
Erin McGee, as well as attackers
Maeve Cambria,
Allie Panara,
Elizabeth Rice and
Danika Wagener. To say the group has been extremely well-accomplished since arriving on South Hill is an understatement. IC's senior class has accumulated 374 goals, 220 assists, 202 caused turnover, 400 ground-balls and 484 draw controls as a group during their collegiate careers.
Â
Win To Say Bye
The IC Women control their own destiny heading into Saturday's contest against the Tigers. A victory over RIT will clinch the second-seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament, which will earn the Bombers a bye to the Semifinal Round. Ithaca is currently tied with Skidmore with a record of 7-2 in Liberty League play this season, but IC holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Thoroughbreds by virtue of their 14-11 win earlier this season.
Â
Last Time Out – Men
The Bombers dominated Clarkson 17-5 in their Liberty League regular-season finale on Wednesday. The victory was crucial for IC, as the team clinched a fourth-place finish and an opening round home game due to Ithaca's head-to-head win over St. Lawrence in double-overtime earlier this season.
Â
On The Board Early
One of the key aspects of the Bombers success is their ability to get on the boards early in the first quarter. Ithaca has posted its best goal-differential during the opening 15-minutes of games this season, outscoring opponents 42-to-29 for a plus-13 margin. The team's 42 scoring strikes in first quarters are also the highest total across the four quarters this season. That theme was certainly on display in IC's latest contest against Clarkson, as the Bombers raced out to a 6-1 lead and never looked back in the regular-season finale. A strong start will be pivotal in a matchup that figures to be as razor close as Saturday's rematch shapes up to be.

Ozsvath Owns the Net
Junior attackman
Ryan Ozsvath has been a leading scorer for the Bombers all season. He figures to once again be a major storyline in Saturday's matchup against St. Lawrence. In the matchup earlier this season, he scored a season-high five goals over the Saints, which included a couple crucial goals down the stretch in the double-overtime win. He enter's Saturday on a roll after a five-point performance against the Golden Knights on Wednesday, which included four goals against the Golden Knights. In all the games the Bombers have won this season, Ozsvath has managed to score at least once. He is a dynamic player and always on the hunt to find the back of the net.
Â
All-Time Series
St. Lawrence is another long-time opponent for the Bombers, as the two sides are set to clash in their 31st all-time meeting on Saturday. Ithaca holds the edge in the series, which dates back to 1970, posting a 20-10 record against the Saints all-time, which includes the thrilling 12-11 double-overtime win during the regular-season meeting between the two sides earlier this season.. The Bombers are 9-3 against St. Lawrence during head coach
Jeff Long's tenure on South Hill.
