ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team rounded out the second day of the 2019 Liberty League Championship in second place with a score of 677 points. RPI holds the lead with 835 points.

Junior
Nate Bartalo headlined the day for IC, taking first in the 100 fly with a time of 49.71 to defend his crown and set a new meet record. He initially broke his own record during the morning preliminaries (49.80), which he set last year after breaking a 22-year-old meet record.

Sophomore
Justin Moczynski also had a solid day on the 1-meter board for the Bombers. After finishing four in the preliminaries earlier in the day, he came in second place with a score of 485.95. The competition was neck-and-neck, but ultimately Union's Davis Harrington won the field with 494.05 points.

The Bombers started off the day with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay as the team of
Stanley Zaneski,
Kellen Scanlan, Timothy Hector and
Nate Bartalo swam to a time of 1:23.25. RPI's relay team narrowly edged Ithaca with a time of 1:23.04.

In the 400 IM,
Andrew Mikhailichenko finished in fourth place with a time of 4:10.16. Bard's Dio Tzortzis won the race and smashed the previous meet record (4:10.58) with a new time of 3:59.57.

Also in the 400 IM,
Augie Carlozzi finished in eighth place with a time of ...... while first-year
Michael Sheehan finished first in the B final, taking ninth place overall with a time of 4:16.97.

First-year
Matt Crysler finished second in the 100 fly B final with a time of 52.98 to take 10
th overall.

Zaneski picked up a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle, swimming to a time of 1:42.99 while Dan Meyers finished in fourth with a time of 1:43.95.

Ithaca closed out the day much like it began, with a close second-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The team of
Spencer Brownewell, Mikhailichenko, Bartalo and Zaneski raced to a time of 3:22.92 for second. IC was edged by RPI, which finished in 3:22.66.

The Bombers are back in action tomorrow for day three of the Liberty League Championship. Swimming preliminaries start at 10 a.m., followed by diving preliminaries at 1 p.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
