CANTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's soccer team fell to St. Lawrence, 2-1, on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers are now 6-4-1 overall with a 1-2 mark in the Liberty League.

All three goals of the day were scored in the second half, but the first half was not without chances for both teams.

In the ninth minute, senior
Jordyn Haynes sent a shot in, which was saved by Saints' goalkeeper Samantha Allen.

Senior goalkeeper
Sara Jakobsze then made her first save of the game on a Tori Daley shot in the 10
th minute to keep the Saints off the board.

The Bombers recorded several shots in a four-minute span, starting with a
Christina DiCesare shot that hit the post in the 14
th minute. Junior
Kelsey Espenhorst then put a shot on-frame in the 15
th minute, which was stopped by Allen. The goalkeeper went on to save a shot from
Alex Epifani in the 18
th minute as well.

Ithaca continued to pressure the St. Lawrence defense, as Epifani sent another shot into Allen, which was saved, in the 23
rd minute. Following a corner kick in the 25
th minute, an Espenhorst shot was blocked by a Saint's defender.

In the final 12 minutes of the first half, the Bombers put together two more chances on-goal. Senior
Gabriella Mihale's shot in the 34
th minute was stopped by Allen. Epifani then had a chance in the 40
th minute, which was also saved by the goalkeeper.

After a scoreless first half, the Saints came out of the break to score just 1:07 in.

St. Lawrence's Tyler Potter scored her first of two goals of the day, as she capitalized on a bobble in front of the net. Julia Mulhern and Isabel Silvia were credited with the assists on the play.

The continued to push for another goal. Mulhern put a shot on-frame just over six minutes later, which was saved by Jakobsze. In the 57
th minute, just 10:08 after the first goal, Potter struck again, putting in a long pass from Kira Murphy to give the Saints a 2-0 edge.

The Bombers had a 10 minute stretch of one-sided offense before scoring their lone goal of the game in the 67
th minute.

Megan O'Reilly and
Gabriella Mihale sent in shots that were high and wide, respectively. The Bombers then earned a corner kick which resulted in an
Ally Christman shot, which was saved Allen.

DiCesare then had a shot in the 67
th minute, which was saved by Allen. Christman, however, took the rebound and sent into the back of the net to cut St. Lawrence's lead to just one goal.

The Bombers recorded just two more shots on the day. Mihale's shot in the 68
th minute was saved by Allen, before a shot from Epifani in the 70
th minute went wide.

Ithaca returns home to Carp Wood Field for a five-game homestand, starting with a 3 p.m. match against Clarkson next Saturday, October 12.
