ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three players scored in double figures as the Ithaca College women's basketball team blew past No. 25 RIT in Tuesday evening's Liberty League matchup.

The Bombers are now 9-3 overall with a 4-1 mark in conference play.

Junior
Cassidy O'Malley led all scorers with 21 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal.
Grace Cannon rounded out the day just short of a double-double with 15 points and seven rebounds while
Annie Giannone scored 11 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists.

The Bombers used an explosive third quarter to pull away from RIT, after leading by only four points at the half. The game started out relatively even, as the lead changed hands several times in the first quarter.

RIT went up 8-4 with 7:36 left in the first on a three from Cori Okada, but Giannone netted her own shot from behind the arc a minute later to bring the Bombers within one.

After back-and-forth points, Ithaca tied things up at 12 on an
Allie Tunick three at the 5:24 mark. Another Tunick three with 4:48 left in the first gave the Bombers their first lead since the first basket of the game.

Ithaca took a six-point lead – the biggest for either team in the first quarter – on an O'Malley layup, before Sabrina Wolfe hit a three for the Tigers' to close out the quarter with IC leading 19-16.

The Bombers maintained a slight lead through the second quarter, building it up to as many as eight points.

Abbi Field netted IC's first points of the quarter with a layup on a pass from
Meghan Mazzella.

After a Tara Lynch layup cut Ithaca's lead to four points with 3:44 left, the Bombers scored four straight points.

O'Malley and Cannon hit back-to-back jumpers to give IC an eight-point edge with 1:54 left in the half, before the Tigers closed out the second quarter with four straight points to cut the Bombers' lead to 31-27 at the half.

Ithaca turned it up after the break, scoring the first five points of the third quarter.

Giannone put in the first points with a layup before O'Malley converted on a three-point play to give the Bombers a 36-27 lead.

O'Malley gave Ithaca its first double-digit lead with 7:46 left in the third, before
Meghan Pickell drained a three less than two minutes later.

The turning point for Ithaca started with two free throws from Giannone with 5:34 left, which led to an 11-2 run from the Bombers to close out the third quarter.

Ithaca ended its run with a three from O'Reilly and
Megan Yawman free throw, which gave the Bombers a 54-35 lead.

The Bombers never let up in the fourth quarter, building up a 25-point lead, while not letting the Tigers close the gap to less than 14 points.

Ithaca reached the 20-point lead threshold following six straight points, starting with a layup from O'Malley with 6:55 left. Giannone then hit back-to-back layups for IC, pushing the Bombers' advantage to 62-42.

RIT closed the gap to less than 20 points just once through the remainder of the game, with an Addy Flood three with 1:44 left, but the Bombers ended the game with the final six points.

Ithaca shot 30-for-59 on the day with a 16-for-27 mark in the second half. The Bombers also shot nearly 79 percent from the line and out-rebound the Tigers 40 to 30.

The Bombers are back in action this weekend when they host St. Lawrence on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and Clarkson on Saturday at 2 p.m.
