PASADENA, Calif. – The Ithaca College baseball team came away with a 5-4 win at Caltech in 11 innings at North Field in Pasadena, Calif. to even its record to 5-5 on the season. An 11-inning solo home run by junior
Webb Little proved to be the game winning hit for the Bombers.
Ithaca fell behind, 2-0, after the third inning as the Beavers scored one run in each at bat. In the bottom of the second, Caltech tallied the game's first run with a solo home run and then followed up with an RBI single in the third.

Domenic Boresta broke up Caltech's no-hit bid with a solo homer to lead off the inning. After W. Little reached on a hit by pitch, junior

Adam Gallagher drove in the Little brothers with a double to the right-center gap to give IC a 3-2 advantage.

Matt Carey brought in the fourth run of the frame with a sacrifice fly to center, which pushed Generali home.
IC held onto its lead until the Beavers scratched two runs across in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 4-4. Back-to-back singles led off the inning and then an error loaded the bases with no outs. After a pitching change brought in junior

Robby Buffis, Caltech laid down a squeeze to score the first run of the frame. A strikeout and walk ensued, and then a passed ball allowed the tying run to come home.
In the top of the 10th, Ithaca had a chance to take the lead by loading the bases with two outs, but a ground out ended the threat. Caltech answered in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out triple, but the Bombers stayed alive with a groundout.
With two outs in the top of the 11th, W. Little stroked a solo homer to right-center to give IC a 5-4 advantage for the eventual game-winning run.
Caltech placed runners on the corners in its final at bat of the contest, but could not push a run across to prolong the game.
LaLomia earned the victory in four innings of relief as he allowed just one hit with four strikeouts. Buffis started the contest and lasted seven innings, and gave up just one earned run with six strikeouts and no walks.
Ithaca produced just four hits in the game, but all four went for extra bases.
The Bombers are at No. 25 University of Redlands tomorrow at 11 a.m. (PST).
