Timely Hits and Stellar Pitching Secures 4-2 Win for Baseball over CMS

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Ithaca College baseball team improved its record to 4-3 on the season with a 4-2 victory at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Monday afternoon at Arce Field in Claremont, Calif. The win for IC snaps its two-game losing streak and drops CMS to 13-8 on the season.

The Bombers struck first at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps with a two-run double off the bat of junior Sam Little with two outs in the top of the third inning. Senior Domenic Boresta and junior Webb Little scored after reaching on a walk and single up to centerfield. Both runners moved up before the double on a wild pitch.

CMS knotted the contest up at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth with a two-out, two-run single over the third base bag after a single and double put both runners in scoring position.

Ithaca regained the lead in the top of the seventh inning, which proved to be the eventual game-winning, double from junior Andrew Bailey that pushed home junior Cam Fuoti and Boresta. Fuoti led off the inning with a single and moved up to second on a wild pitch, while Boresta followed with a walk and scored from first on the Bailey double.
