ALFRED, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team defeated Alfred, 231-66, on Saturday afternoon at Lebohner Pool.

The Bombers opened the day on a high note in the pool, taking the top two spots in the 200 yard medley relay.

The team of
Morgan Hoffman-Smith,
Gabrielle Humphrey, Jackie Pecze and
Genevieve Tripler took first place with a time of 1:56.24 to earn 11 points for IC.
Â
Paige Landers,
Angelina Domena,
Kelsey Jepsen and Caroline Bissaillon finished in second place after swimming to a time of 2:01.14. The team of
Emma Whitney,
Casey Koenig,
Kaitlyn Scott and
Josie Berman took fourth with a time of 2:03.53.

In the 1000 yard freestyle,
Katie Conte finished in first place for IC, swimming to a time of 11:21.37 while Victoria Eastham took second with a time of 11:53.95.

Maura Beuttel was the top Bombers' finisher in the 200 yard freestyle, taking second place with a time of 2:07.82. She narrowly missed overtaking Alfred's Kristin Brown, who came in first in 2:07.81.

Tripler finished in third with a time of 2:08:15 while
Maria Caminiti took fourth place after swimming to a time of 2:10.17.

Senior
Nilza Costa took second place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.57 while
Rachel Smertz came in third after swimming to a time of 1:06.02. Whitney rounded out the IC swimmers in the event, taking fourth place with a time of 1:06.34.

IC took first in the 100 yard breaststroke. Bissaillon earned the top spot after swimming to a time of 1:15.19. Humphrey finished in third place with a time of 1:16.25 while Scott took fourth with at time of 1:17.22.

In the 200 yard butterfly,
Zoe Vadney was the top finisher, finishing in 2:27.59. Koenig was close behind, taking second with a time of 2:27.91.
Abby Hartwig rounded out the top three with a time of 2:29.51.

Landers finished in first place in the 50 yard freestyle after swimming to a time of 26.24 to earn nine points for IC. Domena finished in third place with a time of 27.29 while Berman took fourth after swimming to a time of 27.63.

The Bombers took the top two spots in the 200 yard backstroke. Hoffman-Smith finished in first place with a time of 2:13.26 while Smertz took second place after swimming to a time of 2:22.99. Eastham finished fifth with a time of 2:27.45.

IC was victorious in the 200 yard breaststroke as well, taking the top two spots.
Ashley Warren finished in first place after swimming to a time of 2:34.22 while Koenig came in second with a time of 2:42.09. Vadney took fourth place with a time of 2:48.58.

Conte won her second individual race of the day in the 500 yard freestyle after swimming to a time of 5:34.11. Beuttel was not far behind in second place, finishing with a time of 5:41.01. Caminiti took fourth place with a time of 5:52.48.

In the 100 yard butterfly, Pecze took the top spot with a final time of 1:00.90 to earn nine points for IC. Berman came in third place after swimming to a time of 1:06.73 while Hartwig finished in fourth place with a time of 1:07.30.

The Bombers swept the top three spots in the 400 yard IM. Jepsen came in first place with a time of 5:02.27. Scott took second place after swimming to a time of 5:10.99 while Humphrey came in third with a time of 5:11.91.

The day ended in similar fashion to how it started, with the Bombers taking the top two spots in the final swimming event of the day, the 200 yard freestyle relay.

The team of Bissaillon, Hoffman-Smith, Landers and Pecze took first with a time of 1:43.95 while Costa, Domena, Smertz and Warren finished in second place after swimming to a time of 1:47.41.

In diving action, the Bombers swept the top four spots in the one meter dive.
Â
Lindsey Suddaby took first place with a final score of 290.75.
Katie Helly finished in second place with a score of 257.10 while
Anna Belson and
Jocelyn Pawcio finished in third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 244.

In the three meter dive, the Bombers once again took the top four spots.
Â
Suddaby finished in first again with a total score of 281.95. Belson took second place with a score of 268.40 while Helly finished in third with 262.40 points. Pawcio rounded out the IC divers, taking fourth place with a score of 230.40.

The IC divers are back in action tomorrow as the Bombers host the Dick Commazo Diving Invitational at the A&E Aquatics Pavilion at 10 a.m.

The whole team competes again next Saturday when it hosts Union College at 2 p.m. The Bombers will also honor their seniors prior to the meet.
