AURORA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team blanked Wells on Wednesday evening, 3-0.

The win pushes the Bombers to 4-2-1 while Wells falls to 1-3-1 on the season.

Despite Ithaca controlling play for a large portion of the first half, the Bombers did not find the back of the net until the 32
nd minute. Sophomore
Justinian Michaels sent a long shot from the left wing and it curled in to the far post for his first goal of the year.

The Bombers put another goal on the board in the second half, in the 67
th minute.
Max Barish scored his fourth goal of the season on a pass from Zack Lichtman to put Ithaca on top, 2-0.

The final score of the game came in the 80
th minute. Freshman
Duncan Schnur sent a pass from Barish inside the right post for his first career goal, putting the Bombers up 3-0.

Ithaca controlled the possession from the get-go, registering nine shots and five corners before scoring for a total of 14 shots in the first half.

The Bombers held the Express to just two shots in the first half. In the eighth minute, Wells' Kevin Schrank sent a shot in but it was saved by
Dan Hinckley, show was in the goal for the Bombers.

With just nine seconds left in the first half, Wells' Michael Bove got a head on the ball but it sailed wide of the goal.

The Bombers registered 10 more shots in the second half, with two of them converted into goals while holding Wells' to just four shots.

Lichtman finished the day with six shots while Michaels registered four, Barish had three, Mansfield and Hepler had two apiece and several players tallied one shot. The Bombers as a team finished with 24 shots on the day.

Hinckley earned the win, making one save in goal for the Bombers. Owen May made seven saves in the net for Wells.

"I think you have to give Wells a lot of credit tonight," said Head Coach
Kyle Dezotell. "They made it very difficult for us and really made us work for our goals."

The game against Wells was the last non-conference tune up for the Bombers before they start Liberty League play on Saturday.

"In our first team meeting back in August, we set a goal of having a winning non-conference record for the first time in our program since 2012," said Dezotell. "We have no guaranteed that with one non-conference match to play in mid-October and the team should be proud of the achievement."

Ithaca's first Liberty League challenge is on the road on Saturday when the team travels to face Clarkson at 2 p.m.

"We are really looking forward to getting Liberty League play underway on Saturday at Clarkson and will put in a great week of training in preparation," added Dezotell.
