For the second straight game Ithaca held a big lead in the fourth quarter, but had things slip away late. Entering the final period tied at 5-5, the Ducks reestablished a one-goal advantage when John Boutureira netted his second of the game 52-seconds into the frame to make the score 6-5. The Bombers showcased their potent attack over the ensuing minutes, tallying five straight to build a 10-6 lead with just under 11-minutes to play.
Shumway scored his third of the contest just 28-seconds after Boutureira's goal to tie the game at 6-all. Ithaca went on to score four times over a 1:50 span just under a minute later to help Ithaca take its second lead of the game. Cotton scored while the Bombers were working with a man-up at 12:48. Drillock added a goal for IC 38-seconds later to give Ithaca its first two-goal lead of the game. King and Januszkiewicz capped the run, scoring goals 29-seconds apart, with the latter making it 10-6 with 10:58 left.
Unfortunately, the quick strike was not enough as Stevens roared back down the stretch. The Ducks tallied four times in the waning minutes with two of the goals coming with the man-advantage. Max Bailey equalized the game with 1:09 remaining to send the game to overtime, Ithaca's second game in a row to go to the extra-session.
The Ducks won the opening faceoff during the extra-session and never allowed the Bombers a final shot. Deragon denied Boutureira with a save during overtime, but Tommy Dawson won the game for Stevens with a sudden-victory tally 2:03 into the period to lift the home side to the 11-10 win.
Ithaca returns to action next Saturday, April 8, when it concludes its regular-season road slate against Nazareth College. Opening faceoff against the Golden Flyers is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
